Goznak (from RUS) has been supplying finished printed banknotes to the Central Bank of Syria over the past 10 years.
With the new governmental structures, the supply situation for banknotes is looking to be changed.
Now the neighbour country Turkey has expressed willingness to assist for the printing of new banknotes.
The 'Minister of Transport and Infrastructure' of Turkey, Mr. Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that Turkey is ready to provide support in this field.
The Syrian pound remains the official currency and the main paper denominations include 50, 100, 200, 500, 1,000, 2,000, and 5,000 Syrian pounds. Additionally, the Turkish 'Lira' is widely used in several cities within Syria.
